A wide, empty beach at blue hour. Wet sand mirrors a pale sky, and a dark mountain ridge sits low on the horizon beneath a faint band of rose-coloured light.

Ice, fog and the long quiet of the northern sea.

Statement

I photograph the places in the north where very little happens, slowly.

A tide that does not move. A valley the fog has kept. Ice that took a thousand winters to arrive and will leave in an afternoon. I work with long exposures and longer waiting, and I return to the same shores for years, because the second visit is the one that teaches you how to look.
